NCYC stands for Newport County Youth Council. We are a group of local teens from Newport, Middletown, Jamestown, Portsmouth, Tiverton, & Little Compton working together to impact our communities in positive ways. We focus on social issues like education, the environment, and peace & justice. We also plan fun events for our peers.

This August, we planned and hosted our second Youth Summit at Salve Regina. 20 teens attended workshops about education, specifically the regional school model. We focused on naming the strengths and weaknesses of our rural, suburban, and urban communities and discussed the impacts a regional school model might have.
